AIOA 2023 Gold medal !

Manna Hill Estate’s cold pressed, unfiltered, regenerative biodynamic - organic, extra virgin olive oil was recently awarded a gold medal in the Australian International Olive Awards (AIOA) competition. We have now won gold medals in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023!

There was a strong field of entries from both international growers (including Tunisia, Spain, Italy, New Zealand, China) as well as from Australia.   The judging was performed by five international panels in Spain, Italy, New Zealand, Tunisia and China as well as six panels in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Wagga Wagga. 

Head EVOO Judge, Helen Taylor, remarked that this competition seems to be changing from a competition into a celebration of quality olive products, and is very proud of the quality of product as well as the job the judges have done. She also indicated that quality in olive products is increasing

And this is what the judges had to say about Manna Hill Estate’s 2023 extra virgin olive oil: “Fresh and complex aromas of wet grass, artichoke, green tea, parsley, and green apple skin. Good transfer with more flavours including spinach, green bean and avocado. Clean light mouthfeel with a spicy green astringency that tingles the palate. Balanced bitterness and black pepper with a high persistence and long chilli warm finish.”
